Core Process Psychotherapy Core Process Psychotherapy works with the body, mind and spirit. This form of psychotherapy draws from modern Western approaches combined with Buddhist philosophy - principally the teachings on compassion, wisdom and unconditional acceptance. The Core Process approach offers the opportunity to develop a deep awareness of our embodied experience in the present moment. This approach can lead to lasting change. Core Process Psychotherapy can help us to gain insight into the way things are. To connect with our potential to change the way we do life and the relationship we have with ourselves and others. Psychotherapy is generally medium to long-term in nature. It can, however, help with short term difficulties which arise for all of us. Sessions take place once a week.

What we may do I work with individuals and couples. All therapy sessions take place within an atmosphere of warmth and respect and a willingness to welcome all that you may bring. Although psychotherapy is predominantly conducted through dialogue, there are many other aspects of the Core Process approach which can include drawing, movement, silence, fantasy, visualisation and more. If appropriate and safe for you, all of these ways of being and doing can form a part of our work together as we develop a therapeutic relationship. You may wish to bring these aspects and many others to our sessions and explore. Under certain special circumstances sessions may be available via Skype or Zoom etc if appropriate and discussed in advance.

What I can offer One to one sessions are usually weekly and of one hour duration, meetings are held within a dedicated space in order to provide a confidential and safe environment in which to hold and work with whatever you may bring. I also work with couples and offer Couples Counselling with weekly and fortnightly sessions on the same bases as one to one but sessions last for 1 1/4 hours. I offer a free introductory meeting of around 30-45 minutes so that we can meet and see if it is right for us to work together. I also have a psychotherapy agreement which I will give you when you first visit. As mentioned above I may in certain special circumstances be able to offer sessions via Skype or Zoom etc, if appropriate and when discussed and arranged in advance. How can psychotherapy help? Fees I also offer a limited number of therapy spaces at concessionary rates, which are dependent upon circumstances. Once psychotherapy starts we would normally review progress after an initial six week period and from time to time thereafter. Any increase in fees will normally be once per year, you would be given at least 2 months notice of any increase.
